Street Vets Team New Volunteer Orientation/Training

  • Colonial Heights LIbrary-Community Room 4799 Stockton Boulevard Sacramento, CA, 95820 United States (map)

We are welcoming new volunteers to our Street Vets Team, who make our free clinics happen.

Veterinary professionals, dog handlers, photographers, fundraisers, people with neat handwriting and a knack for organization ALL have a place on our team.

We will spend the first half talking about our mission to keep pets from untimely euthanasia on our shelters by keeping them happy, healthy, and with their beloved owners. We will also discuss how our trauma informed harm reductionist methods and values help us create durable, trusting, and respectful relationships with our low income and unhoused clients. The basics of our medical care and protocols will also be covered.

We will break up into small groups to learn about the nuts and bolts of each team’s role in our clinics, including: vaccine teams, medical records/sign-in team, dog bouncers/peace-keepers, flyer/PR team.
